Only a month after setting the world on fire with “Houdini,” the first single off his new album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” Eminem fired again with his single “Tobey.” Featuring fellow Michigan hip-hop stalwarts BabyTron and Big Sean, “Tobey” showcases a different, yet equally familiar, side to Eminem than fans heard upon the release of “Houdini.” Layered over a sparse beat courtesy of producers Daniyel, Cole Bennett, John Nocito, Car!ton, and Marvy Ayy, the song features dizzying lyrical output by all three artists, showcasing their collective power and the potent musical landscape of Detroit area rap. The track was the second single from Eminem’s highly anticipated 12th album.
The album’s first single, “Houdini,” was released on May 31. An instantaneous global smash, the song entered the Billboard Global 200 and Streaming Songs charts at #1, and debuted at #2 on the Hot 100. The song currently sits in the top 20 of the Spotify Global and US charts, the Apple Music Global chart, and the Top 40 and Rhythmic radio charts. “Houdini” is Eminem’s highest charting single since 2013’s “The Monster” and also becomes his first charting single at the Rock radio format.

ANNOUNCES DEBUT MIXTAPE INTRO SET FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 20TH
|
|
KAETO shares her new single ‘U R MINE’ and announces details of her hotly awaited debut mixtape INTRO, to be released September 20th via Polydor Records. Building around a hypnotic, minor-chord piano pattern and propelled by an infectious, groove-laden drumbeat, ‘U R MINE’ unfurls into an alt-pop epic, Kaeto’s mesmeric vocal lifting the whole thing skyward. It is the thrilling sound of dancefloor euphoria distilled into a short, sharp anthem and arrives alongside a video made by Kaeto and friends.
‘U R MINE’ is one of 8 tracks that will feature on KAETO’s debut mixtape ‘INTRO’ alongside her recent single ‘HERO’. The mixtape was produced by KAETO and Mathias Wang (aka Junkmail) and will be available on black vinyl. KAETO has been captivating audiences with her mesmerising live performances, opening as special guest for Haim, Lauren Mayberry, Eliza and Bleachers and will support The Last Dinner Party on their UK tour in October.
The emerging London-based artist is fast carving a space for herself with her unique genre-spanning sound that blends elements of trip-hop, dance and electronic music with punk, alt-pop and more. KAETO first attracted attention with her startling debut ‘Good Morning’. After signing with Polydor last summer, she released ‘No Body’, which i-D declared “the most commanding artist statement we’ve heard all year”. CLASH remarked “word is already out on this pop voyager, a daring voice carving out her own niche”, while DIY described her as “absolutely melting with confidence and style”. Snow Patrol have released their new song ‘This Is The Sound Of Your Voice’ via Polydor Records. It is the second track to be shared from the Northern Irish band’s forthcoming new album The Forest Is The Path, which is set for release on September 13th and marks their eagerly awaited return after six years, following 2018’s ‘Wildness’. It is produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele/Dave/Stormzy) and the band. Now comprising the trio of Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid, Snow Patrol offered the first taste of their extraordinary new album with recent single ‘The Beginning’.
The Forest is the Path is an album rooted in reflection, introspection and interrogation. One of its key building blocks, says Gary, was the idea of love from the distance of time. “I haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time, 10 years or more, so love from a distance to me meant the way a relationship sits in your memory from a distance of, say, 10 years. That’s not something I’d previously thought about as away to write about love. So it’s like, when you’re in love, you’re standing in the lobby of the Empire State Building. When you’ve broken up with that person, you’re out in the street. You can still see the building, but you’re not in there anymore. And when it’s 10 years later, now you’re standing in Brooklyn looking at the Manhattan skyline.”
The Forest Is The Path was written by Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid and features twelve tracks. Fraser T Smith, Will Reynolds, Roy Kerr and Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA) also contributed to the writing on some of the songs on the album. The album and single artwork features paintings by Gary Lightbody.

OLIVIA DEAN
RETURNS WITH FRESH NEW SOUND ON BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘TIME’ |
|
Following the success of her debut album Messy, multi-BRIT and Mercury-nominated singer-songwriter Olivia Dean releases her brand-new single, ‘Time’, via EMI Records. Premiered at her triple-sold out London Hammersmith Apollo headline show, and released nearly a year after her breakout album, Olivia continues to showcase her effortless versatility. Opening with an acoustic guitar and drum melody which is a mainstay throughout the track, ‘Time’ was produced by Zac Nahome and co-written by Max Wolfgang, Bastian Langebaek, and Matt Hales and introduces us to a bold new sound for the singer, diverging from her previous more mellow, neo-soul tracks.
Recorded in a single take, a new method for the 25-year-old Londoner, the song draws inspiration from the melodic styles of British superstars such as David Bowie and The Beatles, and lyrically hones in on subjects Olivia has touched upon before – love, growth and change. Emulating the rock sound of music legend Tina Turner, ‘Time’ infuses a fresh rock element into her music, with a heavy electric guitar component which can be seen as a departure from previous tracks such as ‘Ok Love You Bye’, from her debut 2021 EP, Love Songs 2021. ‘Time’ signifies an evolution for the singer, demonstrating her range as an artist and her willingness to explore new musical territory. Following the success of Messy, she continues to push boundaries and develop her sound, securing her place as one of today’s most exciting artists in the music industry.
2024 has started on an incredible note for Olivia, with three BRIT Award nominations, a cover on POP Magazine, a feature in British Vogue’s July issue, a debut performance at Coachella Festival, a European and UK tour including three sold-out dates at London’s Hammersmith Apollo (with 35,000 people on the waitlist), a performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and upcoming performances at Glastonbury and Japan’s Summer Sonic, as well as her first festival headline slot at Love Supreme Festival. Her demand and pace show no sign of slowing.

ONLY THE POETS
SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘MINDSET’ |
|
Only The Poets continue their momentum in the alt-pop realm following their international chart success with their ‘One More Night’ EP, releasing new track ‘Mindset’. ‘Mindset’ arrives off the back of a hectic touring schedule which include a string of support slots for Tom Grennan and YUNGBLUD on dates across Europe, plus they’ll be taking the stage at Reading & Leeds festival in August.
Last month saw the four-piece put forward their addictive ‘One More Night’ EP, scoring top 5 placements in Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands plus a top 20 release in Germany. Celebrating the EP’s release, they performed 2 sold out shows at London’s KOKO, and next month will be contunuing their tour across the UK.
“We’ve taken a lot of our influences from stuff we’re listening to now intertwined with Brit-pop and experimented with vocal layers and harmonies,” says Tommy on the EP. “At the back of our minds we’re constantly thinking about how these songs will sound live. We really wanted to go for that big, expansive stadium filler sound.”
Only The Poets, comprising of Tommy Longhurst, bassist Andy “Roo” Burge, guitarist Clem Cherry and drummer Marcus Yates, have established themselves in just a few short years as one of the UK’s biggest emerging live acts. Unsigned until the start of 2023, the band’s DIY ethos saw them build things from the ground up, from playing student house parties, pub circuits and small venues to selling out 1,600-capacity venues in the UK and across Europe last year. Continuously building their fanbase with each release and performance, all signs point to a bright 2024 for the band.
