“Gold Fever bring a new sound to the table,
and it is one done exceptionally.” – Clash
For fans of… Josh Homme, The War On Drugs, The Futureheads
Dance-rock quartet Gold Fever bring the sound of the summer with the release of new single Leather (Wish I Felt The Same), out now via HUBB Records.Carrying over the dynamic energy from previous release DB Cooper, this time bringing a fun-filled synth-pop energy to the fold. With bouncy verses and a punchy chorus, the track is reminiscent of bands like The War On Drugs and The Futureheads. Frontman Oscar JD Sault’s undisputed lyrical prowess and the band’s feel good sound brings an instant classic to the emerging band’s catalog.
Talking about the single, Oscar elaborates “it’s about transition and how that was applicable to many aspects of my life at the time of writing. I felt stagnant while things around me changed. My perspective on my home city of Bristol became suffocatingly melancholic. Ultimately, I realised it was me who was losing myself. That kind of nostalgia is intoxicating, it’s surreal and numbing and almost feels sentient. ‘Leather’ is a song about forgetting who you are.”Now adding a fourth member to their lineup in multi-instrumentalist Tommy Henry and having been selected as one of the 25 finalists in Lakefest’s national emerging talent competition, Gold Fever show no signs of slowing down. A busy summer lies ahead as the band are confirmed to play festivals such as 2000 Trees, Bristol Harbour Festival and Lakefest. They have already received critical acclaim from the likes of BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Clash and Clunk Magazine.
