Zaho de Sagazan – one of the fastest rising stars in French music – is about to embark on her UK tour this month, playing to 5,000 people during 5 dates in the UK & Ireland. These dates are to be quickly followed by her impressive run of sold-out shows across Europe throughout March. Following her 4 award wins last year, Zaho has also recently been nominated for 2 categories at this year’s French Music Awards, Female Artist Of The Year and Live Performance Of The Year, with the awards set to take place February 14th.

La symphonie des éclairs (Le dernier des voyages), her latest release, was the expanded international edition of Zaho’s breakthrough debut album La symphonie des éclairs, which was #6 in the Album Charts of the year in 2024. It features seven previously unreleased tracks alongside the original record, charged with dark electronic energy and touching on the most intimate truth of emotions, and has received Double Platinum in France with +200k albums sold. Among these new tracks is single ‘Ô travers’ (‘Faults’) – an artistic profession of faith and an ode to embracing one’s flaws – the live favourite ‘Dernier des voyages’, sensual techno cut ‘Hab sex’ and more. The album received immense support across national radio in the UK, particularity on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6, where she also featured for interviews with Jo Wiley and Cerys Matthews.
Originally released in March 2023, La symphonie des éclairs has since gone Platinum in France with 100k+ records sold, garnered critical acclaim and led to Zaho receiving four prestigious French Music Awards (Album of the Year, Best Original Song, Best Female Newcomer, Best Newcomer Live Act), becoming the first artist to do so in a single night. This very voice had made her feel uncomfortable during her childhood: “It made me self-conscious because many things about me were the opposite of the feminine and I couldn’t hide my voice.”
But Zaho harnessed it as she did her music, by working relentlessly and finding great pleasure in doing so. It took her some time to admit to herself that her calling was to be an artist. At one time, she was tempted by working in healthcare, eventually channelling that kind spirit to bring her closer to her current work as a singer. Whether her songs are written from the “I”, ”you” or “he” perspective, the subject never changes: a person who loves, suffers, is hesitant, looks at themselves in the mirror, and seeks to explore themselves further.
Zaho is now recognised as a timeless voice of today. In the space of a year and a half, her uniqueness has cemented her status as a phenomenon in the storied French Chanson scene, as evidenced by her many professional accolades as well as the tremendous fan fervour. Shortly before Christmas fans were treated to a radiant EP of covers, and now La symphonie des éclairs (Le dernier des voyages) offered an array of songs to remember for a long time to come.
