Featuring Jacob Collier & James
Day 2 – Jacob Collier
This was my first time at Bristol sounds and i was impressed with the set up. The location, the beautiful sunkissed harbourside with ice cold Wiper and true and some lovely food stalls with offerings for all, we were off to a good start.
Luis Cole warmed the crowd up with a really interesting show showcasing an alternative/indie/electronic set. I loved his confidence as he stated “this will be the best song you’ll hear tonight” this man sure knows his way around a drum kit, no wonder he is best buddies with Thundercat. The artist out of L.A was so calm and collected in his performance wich was recieved well by the crowd.
Jacob Collier jumped on the bristol sounds stage down at harbourside following Cole, skipping around with one of the most energeric entrances ive ever seen! (and ive seen the prodigy) Getting the crowd involved straight away with some harmonising, the crowd loved the infectious energy on display from the start.
The multitalented musician, songwriter and vocalist whos work incorporates jazz with elements of funk and other genres, known for crowd participation and crazy high energy at his live shows really came through last night. The 28 y.o from London put on a show and played some of his most loved tracks.
The crowd were in awe of the young performer almost entranced at times. The set brought to a close with a harmonisation of a Queen anthem again getting the whole crowd involved for a truly beautiful moment.
Day 3 – James
Friday night at Bristol Sounds and it was a banger! The crowds were huge and their was an aticipation in the air for the headliners James. All the acts i got to see on the night were incredibly talented and went down a treat. The ampitheatre was filled with a youthful spirit and infectious energy wich only heightened when James took to the stage.
James confidently owned the stage delivering a high octane specticle that had the audience locked in instantly. Sit down was recieved as you might expext joy spread through the crowds as everyone sang along with hands in the air, a really special moment. Tim booths dazzling energentic presence comanded attention as the band dished out timeless classics. These guys have been around for a while for good reason.
If you get a chance i would highly recommend seeing James live, great vibes, better music.
Shout out to all the team at Bristol Sounds.
