Preview – Skunk Anansie w/ Republica, RXPTRS and IDestroy take over Chipping Sodbury May 23rd

Skunk Anansie Ignite a New Era at Good Times 2025 with Explosive Return

British rock titans Skunk Anansie are set to make a thunderous return in 2025, headlining Good Times in Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol. The performance marks not just another high-voltage live appearance from the iconic quartet, but also the dawn of a bold new chapter, with fresh music on the horizon and the band’s legacy stronger than ever.

Formed in London in 1994, Skunk Anansie quickly established themselves as one of the UK’s most vital acts—sonically fearless and politically uncompromising. Melding a visceral blend of alternative rock, punk attitude, and dub-inflected grooves, they carved out a space uniquely their own. At the heart of it all stands frontwoman Skin, whose commanding presence, raw vocals, queer identity, and sharp fashion sense made her one of the most magnetic and influential figures of her generation.

From Paranoid & Sunburnt to Stoosh, Post Orgasmic Chill, and the blistering live retrospective 25LIVE@25, the band has built a catalogue that resonates across continents, bolstered by anthems like “Weak”, “Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good)”, and “Twisted (Everyday Hurts)”. Millions of album sales, international tours, and a historic Glastonbury headlining slot in 1999 cemented their status in rock history.

Following a hiatus in the early 2000s, Skunk Anansie roared back in 2009 with renewed force. Recent singles “Piggy” and “This Means War” have only reinforced their relevance and artistic vitality, with more new material on the way. “We are really excited to get back on tour,” Skin shares. “Doing what we love the most, which is playing live with fire in our belly.”

Joining them for this unmissable night are fellow ’90s trailblazers Republica. Fronted by the electrifying Saffron, the band helped define the techno-punk crossover sound that lit up clubs and airwaves during the Britpop era. Their global smash “Ready To Go” remains a cultural touchstone, featured in countless films, sporting events, and LGBTQ+ anthems across the globe. With multi-platinum success, headline festival slots, and appearances on Top of the Pops, Conan O’Brien, and Rolling Stone, Republica’s live show is still every bit as explosive and relevant as it was at the peak of their chart reign.

The night’s line-up is further bolstered by rising acts So Good, IDestroy, and RXPTRS, each bringing their own brand of high-energy rock to the stage.

Kicking off the evening is up-and-coming artist Harry Round, opening the show with a performance not to be missed.
