Preview – Jools Holland at Goodtimes Festival, Wednesday 21st May

Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra Return to Good Times with Stellar Guest Line-Up

British music luminary Jools Holland is set to bring his electrifying live show back to Good Times, leading his renowned Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for an evening steeped in musical virtuosity and boogie-woogie brilliance. Known for his exuberant stage presence and encyclopedic command of rhythm and blues, Holland promises a night to remember — made all the more special by a line-up of exceptional guest artists.

Joining the festivities are powerhouse vocalists Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka, both long-time collaborators and celebrated for their soulful, dynamic performances. Adding further magic to the evening is a very special appearance by Chris Difford, founding member of the iconic British band Squeeze, whose songwriting legacy is etched into the DNA of UK pop history.

The concert will span highlights from Holland’s expansive solo catalogue, blending jazz, blues, and boogie-woogie in a show that’s part musical showcase, part party. With the crack ensemble that is the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra behind him, expect nothing less than a masterclass in feel-good music-making.

Opening the show is rising singer-songwriter Jamie Grey, whose emotionally rich vocals and melodic songwriting have garnered over 3 million monthly listeners across streaming platforms. Hailing from the Northeast of England, Grey’s music—rooted in acoustic guitar and piano—effortlessly bridges pop, folk, soul, and R&B. His credentials are impressive: Grey co-wrote nine tracks on James Arthur’s chart-topping album Bitter Sweet Love, and his earlier co-write “Falling Like The Stars” has surpassed 500 million Spotify streams, securing his place as a bona fide platinum-selling songwriter.

Kicking off the night are rising talents Rhiannon Paige and Sam Paul, ensuring the stage is set for an evening of unmissable live music.

Whether you’re a long-time fan or discovering the magic of Jools Holland for the first time, this promises to be the ultimate celebration of rhythm, soul, and timeless British musicianship.
