Review – Little Thief

The Lanes, 1st October 2022

Finally!!!! We’ve been trying to catch Little Thief live for what feels like forever. A band beloved and recommended to us as a “must see live” from their peers. And we now get why!

The last night of a 12 date tour, but no dip in the bands trademark energy as the smoky tones of Charlie “Fitz” Fitzgerald & the Tasmanian devil drumming of Rhii Williams rang out around a jam packed venue.

The eclectic musical tastes of the duo bleeds into their own music. Which swings from pop to rock to funk and even a bit of soul for good measure.

The set is upbeat for it’s entirety, in keeping with the party celebration vibe of the evening.

11 tracks performed with 4 from last years album “Under The Patio “Interspersed with a playful back n forth with the crowd who by now were pulsing with positive energy.

Stand out tracks “Geronimo” and “Freak” showcased the bands ability to write absolute sing along, ear worms. And a cover of The Beastie Boys “Fight, for your right” tipped the crowd over the edge.

By the time “Party” finished the set, that was pretty much all anyone in the venue was doing.

We can now verify the fact that Little Thief are one of the BEST live bands to call Bristol home.
