Review – Brooke Combe

The Louisiana 3rd October 2022

Brooke Combe claims to be from Scotland, but in reality the 22 year old songstress’s real home is the stage. Not just any stage, but the biggest stage that can be afforded to her.

Brooke first came to our attention when she supported @mileskane at the Bristol O2. So when her solo, headline tour was announced we eagerly scanned the listings hoping it would see a Bristol return. When it was confirmed we were at the front of the queue. A dynamic performer that can seemingly turn her hand and musical ear to any instrument she chooses, but it’s when that rich voice, so smooth and full of soul gets unleashed that the real magic happens. It’s no wonder that the iconic Louisiana, like the majority of the tour venues is sold out.

Brooke takes the stage with her trademark cheery disposition and greats the crowd with that familiar, thick Scottish accent that seems is such stark contrast to the silky singing voice.

The set, containing ten tracks, is delivered at pace, but everything you could want is here. And personal favs “Impress You” & “Miss Me Now” are delivered with the Polish of a veteran performer. The crowd, although at capacity are respectfully silent. Bewitched by the ease at which Brooke performs even the most complex of arrangements. She humbly thanks everyone for the support before capping a great night with crowd favourite “Are You With Me?”, a real singalong track that sees phones held aloft & lyrics projected back at the stage. And just like that it’s over, Brooke departs and we are left with a feeling that we might have just seen one of the UK’s next big artists.

Brooke Combe is a princess of soul that is coming for the queens crown. And we are confident she’ll take it.

10/10
