Review – The Golden Age Of TV

The Lanes, March 5th 2022

It’s quite simple.. if I enjoy a gig I’ll buy a T-ShirtI’m writing this review proudly kitted out in a Golden Age of TV Tee

I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I went along to the lanes on Saturday night, but I was obviously in the minority. As not only was it packed, but a fair swathe of the crowd seemed already familiar with Leeds latest, greatest export. That city is really pumping out some great talent at the moment. And we can place GAOTV amongst them.Fizzing between Alt Indie & Art Rock the band have gained rapid positive reviews

“Colourful Yorkshire 5-piece making a lot of noise in Leeds, with their grooving post-punk explosions” – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music

“Really great music, sounds like they’re having a lot of fun” – Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

And It’s clear to see why.Witty, charming and enduring covers both the music and the stage performance. As the band whisk us through a kaleidoscope of 9 songs, that include the brilliant “Dust” and “Me, You and Dog” There’s an enthusiasm and enjoyment that comes off stage, permeating the crowd as the gig goes on.

Even technical problems with some cables are brushed off with a smile and genuine enjoyment of being on stage performing for a packed crowd.

The reception they received at the end was well earned. And we will see these guys back in Bristol playing larger & larger venues.

GAOTV have enough in their arsenal to see them reach far and wide.

Ultra radio friendly, ultra catchy, ultra relatable… car steering wheel tapping  goodness.
