Review – Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

Bristol O2 Academy – 16/11/21

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes are known for bringing fast guitar riffs and heavy drums to every venue across the land. And with the band bringing new songs from their latest album “Sticky” , to get the party started, on this headline UK tour. Bristol was well & truly in the crosshairs for some rattlesnake venom.

Unfortunately the main man had to visit A&E the day of their show in Bristol after falling out of the tour bus, but this is Frank F’ing Carter!!! This wasn’t gonna stop or even detract from the energy of the show. And a mere bust appendage wasn’t going to hinder Frank in jumping off of stage apparatus & running round the venue and through the sell out crowd. Broken arm or not the Rattlesnakes putting on a show after a long 2 years of lockdowns and a pandemic was happening!

With the band playing bangers such as Sticky, Crowbar & Lullaby, the raw connection with the crowd l, that we’ve come to love was there. Fuelling the mosh-pits and crowd surfers with full force. I’m not sure there was a still body in the house when things really got going. The energy of the band and crowd was electric during the show and continued right till the very last note of Original Sin.

The supports of @cassyette @lynkslynkslynks both joined Frank Carter on stage for their features on songs from Sticky – “Off With His Head” for Casseyette and “Get A Tattoo” & “Bang Bang” for Lynks. Both performed amazing sets in their respective support slots to get the crowd pumped for the main act. No doubt both acts have gained themselves some more fans during this tour. And Casseyette will return to Bristol on her own headline tour in February.

There was never any doubt that this show would be a absolute masterclass in banger gigography (yeah we just made that word up… so what! We’re living by Frank Carter rules now & do wtf we want!)
