Review – Saint Agnes , The Crofters Rights Sun 24th Oct

Oh Saint Agnes , you beautiful, beautiful bastards 🖤🔥

Quite how you transform from such lovely, engaging people off stage to absolute possessed demons on it is incredible.

Crofters was quite rightly packed to the rafters last night. As a sell out crowd murmured amongst themselves in eager anticipation of seeing one of 2021s hottest bands.

Saint Agnes have incredible momentum right now. A fire in their belly & behind the eyes. Matched only by the stinging venom of their performances. It should have come as no surprise that the room would bounce & the walls would shake as SA have forged their reputation off the back of their go hard or go home stage performances. Very much if you’re here, you might as well fucking be here to paraphrase a line from new single Uppercut.

The crowd were at it last night from the drop of “Daughter of Lucifer” to the final bar of “Brother”. As Kitty, Jon, Ben & Andy had them eating out of the palm of their hand.

Delivering an eight song, paint blistering set drawn heavily from 2020 EP “The Family Strange” & 2021s “Vampire”. And who can blame them when they’ve not really had a chance to tour either EP until now due to the pandemic.

By the time Repent was being screamed into their faces, the crowd were eager to scream it back. With Kitty simply having to point the mic in the direction of the writhing, moshing mass in front of her.

The house lights on, the dust settled, the beer spilt… all you could see was wall to wall smiling, sweaty faces. A capacity crowd that know this is a band they’ll  see soon enough headlining the summer festivals across the UK & beyond.
