3,900 miles away from home state of Illinois, Real friends scratched the itch for an energy fuelled pop punk show. With their vitality and liveliness, they threw their souls into each jump, power chord and lyric.
Opening their set with track ‘Me First’ (a classic pop punk anthem nonetheless) a surge of elation bounced around the crowd. Hands filled the air, feet left the ground and a frenzy of delight spread across the crowd’s faces.
Their energy did not lack, this set was full on and courageous. A stand out moment would be track ‘I’ve given up on you.’ It is heartfelt and raw, and this crowd lapped it up, definitely their best song (although I might be biased, as it was a particular favourite of mine back in my emo days)
Anyway, Real Friends’ flow was tight, their stage presence was captivating and the set remained fast and lively throughout in true pop punk style.
