Review – Mother Vulture

Bristol O2 Academy, April 22nd 2022

So Bristol’s Mother Vulture melted our faces off!

Taking to the stage as the local support for British icons Reef, the 4 hectic blues punkers obviously had a game plan.. leave everything on the stage. And that they most certainly did, be that blood, sweat, tears or even ripped trousers.

MV launch at you 150mph. And if anything look genuinely frustrated they can’t go even faster.
This is what a rock & roll show should be. A dazzling blur of swinging guitars, whipped hair, smashed drums and epic frontman delivery. Indeed vocalist Georgi Valentine delivers a set that reminds me very much of Fozzy’s Chris Jericho in both energy and style.

The set is fast, brash, loud and in your face, just the way we like it. And a ever increasing throng of faces on the main floor of Bristol’s O2 Academy seemed too as well. The anarchic level of performance is also enough to bring fellow support band and veteran rockers “A” out to the side of the stage where they stand with broad smiles watching the next generation bristling with the energy of youth.

Mother Vultures local reputation has always been very good in the city’s smaller venues.
Tonight they proved they can dominate even the biggest of stages.

This is a must see live band.
