Bristol Sounds Day 5, 26th June 2022
Swedish folk sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg received a rapturous reception from the 5,000 Bristol crowd crammed into the iconic Amphitheatre setting for the finale of Day 5 of this years @bristolsounds festival.
Fresh from their lauded performance at Glastonbury two days earlier, the duo were on great form.
Hitting those in attendance fast with “King of the World”, “it’s a shame” & “Stay Gold” before pausing to welcome the hugely appreciative crowd.
The charm, wit and sister banter was impossible not to love. And it adds so much to a performance when the artist genuinely seem to be having great fun with each other and those attending.
I have to say as well full credit to the team at Bristol sounds because the sound on Sunday night was amongst the best I’ve ever heard for an outdoor event.
The songs flowed thick and fast as the Swedish superstars spun a delightful path through their four studio albums. Particularly highlights for me being “Rebel Heart”, “The Lions Roar” & “Wolf”.
First Aid Kit are absolute masters at what they do. Seamlessly blending Northern European folk with Americana.
As the daylight dimmed and the stage lights burned brighter the atmosphere was euphoric. The age range in the crowd also testimony to the bands mass appeal.
We finish off with a three song encore with understandably the 166 million streamed “My Silver Lining” providing the perfect end to yet another fantastic night provided by Bristol Sounds.
This may well be the best Bristol Sounds Festival yet.
