New year, new album releases! A roundup of February’s upcoming albums

Including new records from Inhaler, Sam Fender & Bradley Simpson

31-Jan-25 KAWALA – KAWALA COLLECTIONListen to latest release Old Me here

The North London five piece KAWALA have announced that their brand-new mini album, the Kawala Collection, will be the group’s last project. Consisting of 9 tracks portraying KAWALA’s diverse songwriting capabilities, from the sun-kissed ‘American Adrenaline’, upbeat palliative fan-favourite ‘What’s Up’, to the vibrant offerings of ‘Time Slipping Away’ and the soothing lyricism of ‘Old Me’, the Kawala Collection takes listeners on a sonic journey and showcases the band at their very best. KAWALA have always been connected to the summer, in sound and spirit. If their debut album Better With You was their sunrise, then this new era of music is their midday sun; a prism through which this unified beam of light is focused to divide into a far-reaching spectrum of colour, curiosity, and above all, confidence. The group embark on their farewell UK tour this February.

7-Feb-25 OLLY ALEXANDER – POLARI Listen to latest release When We Kiss hereEntering a brand new solo era, Olly Alexander’s influence on pop culture shines bright. As Years & Years, Olly scored 2 #1 UK albums, 10 UK Top 40 singles and was awarded the BRIT Billion Award with 6.5 billion streams globally. In 2024 Olly fulfilled a childhood fantasy of representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, flying the flag as only he could in the first preview of Polari, ‘Dizzy’. In album Polari, Olly explores themes of desire, intimacy, voyeurism and fate all wrapped up in a pounding club soundscape. Polari is ultimately an open and universal pop record about those needs that transcend time, sexuality, and self: what it means to belong, to be loved, and to connect. Olly tours the record in April across the UK on his ‘Up Close and Polari’ run.
7-Feb-25 INHALER – OPEN WIDEListen to latest release Open Wide here

Since their career launched in 2018, Inhaler have been among the biggest new names in guitar music, achieving commercial success with roaring chart positions. To date, they’ve sold over a quarter of a million records globally and garnered 500 million streams. Their debut album, It Won’t Always Be Like This, hit #1 in the UK and Ireland, while their 2023 follow-up, Cuts & Bruises, topped the Irish charts and reached #2 in the UK. Open Wide was produced by Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles/Florence & The Machine) and marks a giant leap forward for the band. Listening to a wide range of genres during writing – from techno to Nick Cave – inspired them to experiment with a brighter, timeless sound, adding texture to the record. The result is an album of 13 songs that feels unique – a guitar-driven pop album unlike any other, solidifying their status as one of the most exciting young bands today. The band tour the UK throughout February.

21-Feb-25 SAM FENDER – PEOPLE WATCHINGListen to latest release Wild Long Lie here

The highly anticipated third album from Sam Fender. If Seventeen Going Under was Sam’s “coming of age” record, People Watching is his next step forward – colourful stories and observations of everyday characters living their everyday, but often extraordinary, lives. His observations on life as he experiences them have already taken him to headlining Summer festivals (Reading & Leeds, Boardmasters), selling out stadiums, and becoming a bonafide household name. A huge sold-out arena run in December is followed by headline stadium dates for June, including three shows at his hometown St. James’ Park in Newcastle.

28-Feb-25 BRADLEY SIMPSON – THE PANIC YEARSListen to latest release Holy Grail here

Having performed in front of millions of fans around the world and selling out headline shows, Bradley Simpson is now channelling that star power into his debut solo album, The Panic Years. Bradley’s new songs take in touches of indie-rock, Americana, ‘80s synth and psychedelia but they also sparkle with pop addictiveness. Just as importantly, the songs go far deeper into his personal experiences: life, love, lust and learning – a diaristic collection of rite-of-passage moments that fans will instantly connect to. He will undertake his biggest UK tour to date this May, a run of shows which once again scales up after his November 2024 UK and Ireland tour sold out in just one day.
