Gig Preview – Hawxx, Mallavora, Racehorse

The Louisiana, Sunday 10th October 2021

So… about two years ago, before the Covpocolypse we stumbled across Mallavora. A 4 piece heavy rock outfit from the midlands and instantly loved what we heard. After waiting patiently we not only finally get to see them grace the iconic stage @louisiana.bristol this Sunday, but we get to see them in support of the almighty heavy rock goddesses that are HAWXX
We hope the Louie spent some money on their foundations during the pandemic because the place is gonna be shaking from floor to ceiling without fail.

HAWXX

Hawxx seamlessly blend power, attitude and feminism into a heady mix of blistering riffs, chest thumping bass, explosive drums and vocals that make the hairs stand on end. Don’t expect the band to pull any punches. As they lay out track after track laced with political and social barbs. Indeed their recent EP “Deadlands” has risen to the top of our favourites pile since discovering the band a few months back.

Mallavora are the perfect accompaniment , a heavy rock outfit with more than a casual nod to tackling social injustice and live issues. We first spoke with lead vocalist Jessica during her support for the “girls to the front” movement. Lyrically savvy and musically astute with heavy grooves and boundless energy Mallavora and ready to step up.

We would also encourage you to get down to the Louie early and make sure you catch home grown, melodic alt punkers @racehorsetheband who we guarantee will kick the evening off in the right way
