Saturday 25th @Mothers Ruin
A rare double header for Bristol Gig Guide this week as we head to Mothers Ruin this Saturday to catch local favourites The Love Handles and Cornwall finest Taunts.
The bands hit the stage from 8pm and best of all its totally FREE OF CHARGE, as part of the superb Free For All Festival. So you really have zero excuses not to join us.
The Love Handles
Self described as Bristol’s “premier indie trash band”, The Love Handles have become a much loved mainstay of the local music scene.
The school friend band consisting of Danny Little (guitar and vocals), Emile Fedeczko (guitar), Ben Monnox (bass) and Elliot Mason (drums and vocals) bring a careless, yet methodical haze of razor sharp guitar driven – off – a – cliff noise sandwiches. Relentless rhythm and honey glazed vocals, which veer from crooning to angry chihuahua.
If that doesnt get your musical taste buds moist…maybe this will?
The influences of The Maccabees, Vaccines, Buzzcocks and more are very detectable in a live show which the lads take great pride in. Playing with the primary aim of inclusiveness and for the audience to let loose.
Taunts
Exploding on to the South West music scene last summer, Cornish two duo Taunts (Ele Lucas, Bass/Vocals) , (Luke Phillpott, Drums/Vocals) have already made waves that would give Fistral Beach a run for its money.
Taking inspiration from The Subways, Rage Against The Machine, Frank Zappa and more the Indie, riff, rockers put something of a unique spin on everything they touch.
This will be Taunts debut Bristol show so expect a high intensity, interactive wall of sound that leaves nothing in the dressing room and everything on the stage.
Here’s a small taste of what you can expect
We’ll see you all at Mothers Ruin this Saturday.
