Phoenix born melodic country singer, Courtney Marie, graced Rough Trade with her softly charming presence. Each song is a heartfelt story of self love and growth, everyone was fascinated by her ethereal nature. Each song delicate, feeling like an autumn leaf drifting from the tree to the ground, it was a magical stripped back set.
A true story teller, her music enters you right into her world. Reciting songs dedicated to her friends, such as “let her go” (a ballad about trying to contain a wild friend) we entered a personal journey with this artist. I think this was complemented by the intimate nature of this show, it being just Andrews and her acoustic guitar.
Softly stunning, her new album “loose future” is the soundtrack to cozy winter nights for sure. Simply stunning vocalist too, Andrews music is a mystical mix of indie, folk and country that feels like a hug each time you listen to it.
