We’ve been excited about the prospect of having Witch Fever scream in our faces for a while.
And the Manchester Indie Punk quartet didn’t disappoint. Bringing their unique bluntly honest lyrics, grungey riffs & heavy beats to bare on a busy Lost Horizon.
It was quite a mixed crowd for a punk gig. With a fair few Friday night revellers thrown in the mix of people who’d come specifically to see WF play. This didn’t stop Singer Amy Walpole, bassist Alex Thompson, guitarist Alisha Yarwood & drummer Annabelle Joyce from giving it hard though.
Music really does come across as the weapon of choice for the four piece to raise a little hell. As well as sticking a middle finger up to the male dominated music industry with its preconceived notions of how women “should behave”
A well paced set that as a fan of the band delivered everything I personally wanted to hear. Coming out the gate early with “In the resurrect”. And turning up the attitude with an outstanding live version of “Bully Boy”.
With the crowd now very much into the Set, Amy left the stage and took her vitriol into the mass. By the time “Reincarnate” dropped to close the set Witch Fever had cemented their place as one of the hottest new wave of Punk acts in the UK today.
