Review – Kira Mac, Lost Horizon, 8th May 2024

In a blazing display of rock prowess, Kira Mac ignited the stage at Lost Horizon, seizing the hearts of a sold-out arena on a Wednesday night. Hailing from the diverse landscapes of the UK, from Stoke to Hull, the band is a powerhouse quintet featuring the magnetic frontwoman Kira, alongside Brett on bass, Joe shredding on guitar, Alex wielding the electric guitar, and Max pounding the drums.

Since their formation in 2021, Kira Mac has been a force to be reckoned with. Formerly a solo act, Kira united with Joe, Alex, and Max along her musical odyssey, forging a collective destined for greatness.

Their sonic arsenal is a fusion of vintage rock influences and a kaleidoscope of genres, spanning rock and roll, blues, and heavy metal. With an electrifying stage presence, they seamlessly blend these elements, showcasing their undeniable talent and versatility.

Launching into their set with the anthemic “Save Your Whisky,” Kira Mac unleashed a torrent of energy, delivering a performance that was nothing short of spectacular. The devoted crowd, clad in Kira Mac Band merchandise, eagerly awaited their heroes’ return, making this only the band’s second appearance in Bristol.

Frontwoman Kira charmed and captivated, engaging with the audience, sharing anecdotes, and eliciting laughter throughout the venue. Joe and Alex dazzled on guitars, their riffs intertwining with Kira’s vocals in a mesmerizing dance, while Max’s thunderous drumming anchored the band with precision.

Leaving no soul untouched, Kira Mac delivered a night to remember, leaving smiles etched on the faces of all who bore witness to their electrifying performance.
