Graveyard Johnny’s gig preview, 13th of July 2019

Saturday 13th July, The Louisiana

Dear Bristol,

Do you like Rock n Roll?, do you like Country?, do you like Punk? Well how about we chuck them all in the melting pot that is Psychobilly and let the Graveyard Johnnyโ€™s show you how itโ€™s done.

The boys are back in town this weekend. For what is looking like a capacity gig at The Louisiana. Very limited tickets remain (click here to get yours).

Do not expect to stand there quietly supping your pint. If you do youโ€™ll be in for a rude awakening. And most likely be called out by the band to โ€œwake the F upโ€. A Graveyard Johnnyโ€™s show is very much a crowd participation event, so get ready to raise some hell.

When the Johnnyโ€™s come to town (Joe Grogan, bass and vocals, Tom lord, drums and Callum Houston, guitar) they bring the noise. Quite how the bass survives a full show is beyond me. And you can imagine many of the ticket sales going toward kit replacement.

Yes these boys are unapologetically loud, yes the pace is frenetically fast. And yes you will leave feeling like youโ€™ve been to a Welsh fishermanโ€™s house party that just happened to be a huge UK punk scene fan.

Expect a raft of songs from the two studio albums (2011โ€™s Songs from better days & 2015โ€™s Dead Transmission), but maybe a few early gems from Street blocks & city lights as well.

Formed in 2008, the South Wales boys are now veterans of the Psyco/Rockabilly scene. And have toured consistently around the UK, Europe and the USA. You can always expect them to be one of the first names booked for any Rockabilly festivals.

Drink your pints, lose your voices and dance your hearts out.

Oh Bristolโ€ฆ. You are in for one hell of a show, you have been warned.
